Dencryl™
Bridge Deck Systems
Membrane solutions for concrete and steel bridges, rail bridges and pedestrian wearing surfaces.
Dencoat has developed coatings for use both indoors and outdoors for places exposed to extreme influences, such as bridges, loading ramps, ship decks, parking lots and in other exceptional industrial environments, where an extremely durable and resistant floor is essential. Offshore construction and port facilities require protective membranes with the ability to withstand large temperature differences in a salty marine environment without cracking. Dencoat has the solution.
Dencryl is a very popular jointless acrylic-based membrane system with completely unique properties. Its popularity is due to the fact that Dencryl™ is durable, flexible and resistant to a wide range of chemicals, thanks to the unique properties of the acrylic binder. Due to the constant changes in weather and climate, great importance must be placed on the correct choice of membrane.
The choice of Dencryl Bridge Deck waterproofing systems therefore requires full compliance with strict specifications and where the systems are only installed by certified partners with relevant training and experience. It should be remembered that a ‘prevention is better than cure’ approach is a far more cost-effective solution than repairing and replacing at a later stage.
With experience from many global bridge membrane installations, our technical experts can design a solution that is tailor-made to suit your project specifications and requirements.
Dencryl™ Bridge Deck Systems typically consist of four different membrane types, namely:
Road
Waterproofing of concrete and steel decks under asphalt wearing layers.
Traffic
Waterproofing of concrete and steel decks as exposed wearing layers.
Rail
Waterproofing of concrete and steel rail bridges under rail ballast.
Pedestrian
Waterproofing of concrete and steel decks as exposed wearing layers for light traffic, bicycling and walking.
System Name | Thickness | Typical Areas of Use | Texture | Chemical Resistance | Ready for traffic | Hardness | Temperature | Application Temperature |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dencryl Bridge | 6-10 mm | Used in indoor and outdoor areas, which are subject to extremely heavy mechanical charges, and is therefore used for road bridges, parking decks, driving ramps, loading areas, indoor industrial areas with exceptionally heavy charges, or other places where a floor with extremely high resistance to wear and strokes is required. | Non-Slip | Very Good | 2 Hours | 85 Mpa | Max 80ºC | -30 to 30ºC |
Dencryl Bridge Road | 3-4 mm | An acrylic-based waterproofing membrane for application on bridges under asphalt, both manually and by spray | Non-Slip | Good | 2 hours | Shore D 40 | Max 80ºC | -30 to 30ºC |
Dencryl Bridge Traffic | 6-10 mm | An acrylic-based membrane system with a heavy-duty wear layer mixed with bauxite. Used as a finished wear layer on road bridges where a flexible membrane with a hard-wearing surface is desired. | Non-Slip | Very good | 2 hours | 85 MPa | Max 80ºC | -30 to 30ºC |
Dencryl Bridge Rail | 3-4 mm | A flexible and seamless waterproofing membrane with extreme resistance to impacts and indentations under rail ballast for railway bridges | Smooth | Good | 2 hours | Shore D 40 | Max 80ºC | -30 to 30ºC |
Dencryl Bridge Pedestrian | 5-6 mm | An acrylic-based membrane system with a heavy-duty wear layer mixed with bauxite. Used as a finished wear layer on pedestrian and bicycle bridges where a flexible membrane with a hard-wearing surface is desired. | Non-Slip | Very good | 2 hours | 85 MPa | Max 80ºC | -30 to 30ºC |

Highlights
Smooth-Or-Non-Slip

The practical requirements connected with industrial floors are many. One situation can demand a very smooth surface while another calls for the highest possible non-slip qualities. Dencoat can supply floors, which fulfill all these requirements, from one extreme to the other, so that the working day is safe - and smooth..
Complete Watertight

Any liquids which may come from the production process or which may be used in connection with the cleaning of the floor, must be drained off quickly and effectively. This requires a floor which is absolutely watertight and which can be laid with seamless drainage. Dencoat is the solution...
Hygienic

In many areas - from the food industry to hightech companies - hygiene is a high priority. Here, floor coverings are, in every respect, the foundation. Dencoat flooring is very often chosen on the basis of its many an excellent hygienic qualities. With Dencoat you don't need a plate - you can eat directly from the floor.
Resistant To Chemicals

In those industries where chemicals are used, a floor must live up to very stringent demands. It must be acid and base proof and must be able to be cleaned thoroughly. Dencoat flooring is made from a range of man.made materials which can be combined so that they effectively fulfill the individual customer's requirements with regard to chemical resistance. In short: Dencoat has the floor that lives up to all your expectations...
Heat Resistant

A floor must also be able to withstand heat-producing production processes or intensive cleaning at high temperatures. Dencoat flooring can be supplied in an extremely heat-resistant version which can withstand very high temperatures..

Chock Resistant

Generally, the thicker the floor, the more resistant the floor is to heavy and sharp objects, impacts, shocks and dropped objects. Dencoat™ delivers floor solutions to everything from school building to offices, shopping and sports centers to heavy industry with heavy wear and tough industrial treatment.
Extremely Hard-Wearing

An industrial floor must be able to put up with frequent traffic. The same applies to floors in shops, large kitchens, bakeries, butchers, etc. A Dencoat floor is a solid foundation everywhere and is extremely hard-wearing. A worthwhile, long-term investment, which will ensure solid ground under your feet for many years to come...
Withstands Heavy Loads

Apart from intensive use, an industrial floor must also, in many industries, be able to withstand severe mechanical influences. The various man-made materials, which are present in a Dencoat floor, are combined to produce an underlay, which can withstand even the toughest industrial treatment. With a Dencoat floor, everything is as easy as winking...
Office Chairs

In many offices, there’s a fair amount of rolling back and forth over the course of a day. Dencoat floors have been tested to resist this traffic so that the beautiful office floors aren’t compromised by wear and tear.
Comfort

With the nice soft coating of the Dencoat Comfort series, two important functions are achieved. Firstly, they absorb hard shocks so that your back isn’t unnecessarily burdened. Secondly, they are soundproof so that the noise of steps doesn’t resound throughout the building. That they look great too is just an added bonus!
Soundproof

Acoustics play an important part in how people thrive indoors. The type of flooring is a significant factor in the amount of sound reflected in a room, concrete floors being the most notorious culprits. Dencoat flooring solutions that carry this brand absorb sound, contributing to the creation of a pleasant indoor environment.
Fire Tested

All Dencoat floors have been tested in accordance with international standards so that you, as the architect or builder, can choose a Dencoat floor that lives up to the demands of each individual construction. In many cases the fire requirements are exceeded.
Colour

Dencoat floors can be delivered in any colour so that you, as the architect or builder, can let the floor contribute to the overall design of the building. The individual Dencoat floor types come in a range of standard colours but can be delivered in any specific hue of your choosing.

Free Of Smells And Voc

Most Dencoat flooring solutions can be made with raw materials that do not contain volatile organic compounds. This is not just an advantage as the first jointless floor is laid out, but also in relation to future maintenance and repairs. Thus, VOC free flooring solutions are the obvious choice for offices, halls, and places where food is being processed.
Fast Curing

In many modern production units, down time is an important issue. Delays are costly and flooring repairs must be done without disturbing production. Dencoat can provide flooring solutions with rapid curing properties. After only two hours of curing, the surface is ready for further activities.
