Safe and Sound
20,500 m2 of Non-Slip Flooring
on Solid Bedrock

The Challenge
"It has to be as secure as Fort Knox"
The security at a data center can be compared to Fort Knox in terms of access control. Additionally, the data center must naturally protect its clients' data. Part of that security is at ground level. In the large data halls, the humidity is high, and the SVG-Renneshøy data center required flooring that could withstand constant moisture while remaining safe to walk on.

The Project
"The floors must be non-slip, even when wet"
DenCoat’s project at SVG-Renneshøy involved installing 20,500 m² of flooring. Since the rooms receive large amounts of moisture from the surrounding rock walls, the floors needed to handle that. Additionally, the floors had to be non-slip, as wet floors can become dangerously slippery. The project spanned several years and covered six large halls within the mountain, each with two floors, further divided into server rooms as large as 1,550 m².

DenCoat’s Solution
"Static electricity is a no-go in a data center"
Denpox CBR is a robust and fast-curing flooring system that is installed in one go, creating a smooth, seamless surface. The floor is also antistatic—an essential requirement for any data center. Besides resisting water and moisture,

Denpox floors can also withstand chemicals and high-pressure loads, including those from trucks handling heavy server modules. For non-slip safety, quartz was added before the floor cured. It's no wonder DenCoat says: "You have the challenge, we have the floor."
